The adventure of the mustang's dent

I like this pic I found on Facebook

The sun is going down but the unusual light which came in this afternoon is still here.
It makes the world look uncanny. You walk outside to put a paid bill in the mailbox and you feel like you have walked into a fairy tale. It is so unusual and lovely.
Today was a nice day, altho unusual too. A few years ago Bill and I bought a second hand mustang, it is also a clutch. So when Jim was driving me everywhere, in exchange for that favor I loaned him our Mustang.
This is a huge favor to him since it meant he lent his old car to his niece. And he no longer has to spend every day all day driving her places. Because she has two babies, his whole life had been driving her places. Now she can drive herself in his old car, and he zips around town in my mustang.
It's a perfect plan, because the mustang had to be driven anyway, and when he drives me somewhere I get to choose whether to go in my truck or my mustang which is a convertible.
Yesterday Jim's friend called him up and said "my son's car won't start will you drive him to work."
Jim said "of course."
But after he dropped the young man off at Racquet Club where he works, Jim got call on his cell phone. He wasn't paying attention and backed into a dumpster, which took out the rear light and made big dent.
My Higher Self said "it's not fair Jim be punished when he is doing a favor for a friend so I should offer to pay half of everything for the new light and for getting the dent fixed."
Jim asked Frank to call his brother in law. Frank's brother in law is the one who took out all the dents in my truck, I had really banged it up during my driving lessons.
And he did a beautiful job and is so reasonable. He works out of his house.
Of course things work their own way when you call Frank and say call your brother in law and then wait for Frank to call back.
It was 24 hours of no one calling anyone back. And wondering how it will work.
But it is now 24 hours later, Frank says his brother in law can do the job on Wednesday, he will pick up the Mustang from my driveway. Jim just has to drive it over the day before. I will lend Jim my truck so he has wheels.
And Frank is going to find a place in Tucson which sells the rear light, since it is smashed.
I will stay home all day Wednesday in case Manuel actually does come to pick up the Mustang that day.
I actually think having 24 hours of dent drama has been good for me.
I was so deep in my inner life that it was good to be pulled out of it. To be on phone with Jim about the dent, and talk to Frank about it when he took down some branches in my backyard this afternoon..
Maybe because I'm not the one who did the dent, and am just being swell to Jim by helping him, whatever it is I think the experience is just what the doctor ordered right now.
It has pushed me back into the world, and I wanted to be back in the world.
Last night I giggled to myself and said "It is The Adventure of the Mustang's Dent and it is time for a new adventure in my life."
I wish you all a wonderful evening
I love you
Annie
